Step 5: International Student Check-In

The International Check-In is an in-person registration event for new international students.

The last step of Matriculation is International Student Check-in. This is very important as the University need to confirm you have the correct visa to be able to study with us. You should do this in the first week of the course.

Upload immigration details to MyEd

You will need to upload scans or decent quality photos of your passport and current visa.

This can be done by logging into MyEd, clicking on ‘Student Details’, clicking on ‘Launch Student Self Service’ and choosing the ‘Immigration Details’ tab. You will also need to attend International Check-In in person once you arrive in Edinburgh.’

For more information, visit the University's International Check-In web pages.

If you are getting a Biometric Residency Permit (BRP) and have chosen to have it delivered to the University of Edinburgh, you should be able to collect it when you go for the check-in. If you have had it delivered elsewhere you will need to collect it first and bring it with you.
