Free, non-credit bearing courses available for undergraduate and postgraduate students from all disciplines at the University of Edinburgh.

Applications for the first set of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught courses have closed. Another set of courses will be offered in November, applications for which will open Monday 13 October. The application deadline will be Sunday 2 November 2025.

Applications have closed for Qualitative Research 1 & 2, and the Scientific Research course. These courses will be offered again in Semester 2. Applications will open later this Semester, so keep an eye out. Writing your PhD First Year Report and Reviewing the Literature are still open for application and will close Sunday 26 October. 

Please note that we will not be able to confirm regarding acceptance until *after* the application deadline has passed.

Before applying:

  • Read the ALLIS course descriptions to ensure you choose the courses most appropriate to your needs.

After applying:

  • Please be patient! We will contact you after the application deadline to confirm if you have been given a place.
  • Check your email after the application deadline for further communications from us.

Please be aware:

  • You must submit a separate application for each course you apply for, and we strongly advise you to only apply to a maximum two courses per semester, or one course in the case of courses for Post Graduate research students.
