Resitting English language tests to meet your degree programme requirements The Pre-Sessional programme is designed to help you meet your degree programme entry requirements. As such, once you have been given a Pre-Sessional placement you should not attempt to resit other English language tests. This is important for the following reasons: The admissions department for your chosen degree programme may not accept revised English language test scores if you are registered on the Pre-Sessional. You will be required to successfully complete the Pre-Sessional to gain entry to your degree programme. Once your 14 day cancellation period has expired, we will not refund Pre-Sessional fees if you have been resitting other English language tests and achieve the scores needed for degree programme entry. Can I transfer from the 10-week to the 6-week programme? If you submit an application for the 10-week Summer Pre-sessional programme then it is understood that you fully intend to attend this length of programme. If you subsequently wish to transfer from the 10-week to 6-week programme you would need to have met the requirements of the 6-week programme and should make the request within 14 days of making the deposit payment for the 10-week programme. Transfer will be subject to availability of places. Once applications have closed we would not be able to consider any requests for transfers. What are the dates and fees for the Pre-sessional? We prefer final balances to also be paid using the University’s ePay service, but alternative payment methods such as bank transfer are available. Full details will be included in our invoice when we request final balance payment. Please do not make payment for the Pre-sessional Summer EAP payment through MyEd Fees. Will accommodation be available? Yes, limited self-catered University accommodation will be available for the 10 week and 6 week components of the Pre-sessional. Once you have submitted your application, please send your sponsor letter to: col.admissions@ed.ac.uk Please note, due to high demand for places on the Pre-sessional, you will still be required to pay a deposit to secure your place. This deposit will be refunded to you once we receive full payment from your sponsor. Please note, you will be responsible for paying any fees that are not covered by your sponsor. If I cancel can I get a refund? Once you make your deposit payment to secure your place on the Pre-sessional, there is a 14 day cooling off period, after which the fee is non-refundable. Please note, final balance payments made at a later date do not have a separate cooling off period. See our Terms and Conditions for full details.
