Social activities

If you’re joining us in Edinburgh for the Postgraduate Pre-sessional English Programme (PGPEP) we want to ensure your time with us is memorable.

You’ll be based in the heart of our beautiful and historical city and will have the chance to spend time exploring Scotland’s vibrant capital. It’s important to us that you make new friends and share unique experiences, so we’ve included a number of social and educational activities in your programme fee.

We’re planning two activities per Semester and these could include:

• A city bus tour where you’ll explore Edinburgh’s most popular attractions
• A guided tour of one of the National Museum of Scotland’s collections. Options include culture, history, science and technology and natural history
• A visit to Edinburgh Castle, one of the most exciting historic sites in Western Europe!
• A tour of the Scottish Parliament, the home of Scottish democracy

Edinburgh is easy to get around, on foot or by using our great network of buses, trams or trains. Although our city is compact, it's also busy, and you’ll have plenty of things to do in your free time.

With a large collection of historic buildings and green spaces, it’s easy to see why parts of the city have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There are also a huge number of museums, art galleries and theatres to enjoy while you are here!
