Please note that the second week will be a break due to the University reading week, and so the courses will be 5 weeks long, but with 4 weeks teaching.

We offer varying courses depending on the time of year. There are three opportunities to take these courses in the academic year 2026/27:

Set 1: Week commencing 5 October 2026 (applications open from 14-27 September 2026)

Set 2: Week commencing 16 November 2026 (applications open from 19 October-8 November 2026)

Set 3: Week commencing 1 March 2027 (applications open from 1-21 February 2027)

Academic Writing for In-sessional Study (AWIS)

Explore key general aspects of academic writing and gain a better understanding of writing within your own discipline.

Intercultural Communication Skills (ICS)

Develop your understanding and skills in effective communication in global contexts.

Seminar Discussion Skills (SDS)

This in-person course will help practise the language you need to participate more confidently in seminars.
